The start of the 2023-24 NBA season is finally here and the Golden State Warriors’ path to redemption will start with a highly-anticipated matchup against the Phoenix Suns.

The Warriors spent the offseason retooling their roster, with their biggest move being their blockbuster trade to bring in Chris Paul in exchange for Jordan Poole.

Golden State also made some additions via the 2023 NBA Draft and free agency, but the core of the team still remains Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green, and Steve Kerr.

The start of the season could be a tough one for the Warriors as Green is expected to miss time due to an ankle sprain he suffered in the offseason.

Although Golden State’s still got the talent and continuity to hang with just about any team in the league, Paul Pierce believes there’s a chance they could miss the postseason entirely, via “Undisputed.”

Pierce argues that the Warriors’ paltry road record last season is a huge detriment to their playoff chances.

He also adds that any big injury to their three stars would also severely hamper their ability to crack the postseason in what looks like a competitive Western Conference.

It’s certainly a hot take from Pierce as most consider Golden State to be on the fringe of contender status, but an older roster like theirs is more susceptible to injury.

All three of Curry, Thompson, and Green have missed extensive time in the past and if it were to happen again then the Warriors could very well being looking from the outside in come playoff time.
