The New Orleans Pelicans have already committed a big offseason trade, acquiring Dejounte Murray from the Atlanta Hawks.

But the team isn’t done making moves, according to inside reports.

Writing for The Athletic, Will Guillory, per Evan Sidery, is reporting the Pelicans “covet” Jarrett Allen of the Cleveland Cavaliers and Wendell Carter Jr. of the Orlando Magic.

Although they may want these two stars, will they actually be able to get them?

The Pelicans recently lost their big man, Jonas Valanciunas, who traveled up to the Washington Wizards.

Although they have one of the biggest and strongest power forwards in the NBA, Zion Williamson, the Pelicans still want to get larger.

Both Allen and Carter would help with that wish.

Allen’s name has been tossed around a lot as the Cavaliers are possibly on the verge of making some extensive roster changes.

Last season, Allen averaged 16.5 points and 10.5 rebounds.

As for Carter, he posted 11 points and 6.9 rebounds during his 55 games with the Magic in 2023-24.

Both players could be starting centers who would improve the team’s size and strength.

But it remains to be seen if the Pelicans have what it takes to land either of them.

They still have some assets that they can use in the offseason, such as Brandon Ingram.

However, the trade market is dwindling by the day and they may be out of options soon.

Will either Allen or Carter make their way to New Orleans in the new season or will the team have to sign a different big man?
