Pete Carroll is regarded by many as one of the NFL’s top coaches.

He has achieved great success in his tenure with the Seattle Seahawks, including their surprising playoff berth in 2022.

Due to the Seahawks’ trade with the Denver Broncos, where they dealt Russell Wilson, they now have the fifth overall pick in this year’s draft.

As noted by Seahawks reporter Bob Condotta, Carroll is “intrigued” with the prospect of drafting Jalen Carter.

Carter has been a polarizing prospect throughout the pre-draft process.

However, under Carroll’s tenure, the Seahawks have found great success in the draft.

Over the past several years, the Seahawks have selected players such as DK Metcalf, Shaquill Griffin, Frank Clark, and Tyler Lockett, to name a few.

Tariq Woolen also turned out to be a fantastic selection for the Seahawks in 2022, despite his fifth-round capital.

As the Seahawks turn their attention to this year’s draft, they have two picks in the top 20.

Although some around the league have suggested the Seahawks should take a quarterback at No. 5 overall, Carroll’s recent indications would say otherwise.

Starting quarterback Geno Smith was an impactful player for them last season, especially after the departure of Wilson.

Plus, the team has recently signed him to a contract extension, locking him down for the next three years.

A player of Carter’s caliber could be an additional jolt to the Seattle defense as it looks for growth in 2023.

The good news for Seahawks fans is they don’t have to wait long to find out who the team will select.
