This is the beginning of a new era for Seattle Seahawks football.
For the first time in more than a decade, Pete Carroll won’t be calling the shots there.
He’ll still serve as an advisor for the organization, but with Mike Macdonald in charge of the team.
However, as much as the 72-year-old didn’t hesitate to embrace a new role with the franchise, his desire to coach hasn’t gone away.
At least, that’s what one would think by listening to his recent interview with 93.3 KJR, in which he admits that he could go back to coaching tomorrow.

Despite his age, Carroll always stayed relevant and in great shape, both mentally and physically.
He’s always had the utmost respect from his peers, players, and decision-makers in the organization.
He didn’t always see eye-to-eye with Russell Wilson, up to the point where there was a rumor about Wilson wanting him fired.
The franchise clearly took Carroll’s side, as they wound up trading Wilson away to the Denver Broncos, a controversial decision at the time that proved to be the right call shortly after.
Carroll is one of the best defensive-minded coaches in recent years, and even though he’s not getting any younger, multiple teams and college football programs would hire him in a minute.
For now, however, that’s not likely to happen, and the Seahawks will be glad to continue picking his brain for as long as he’s willing to stay with them and serve in a different capacity after 14 years with them.
