It’s been a while since the Washington Commanders were considered a playoff-caliber team.

We’re inching closer to the season, and analysts and fans don’t seem to think of them that way this time around either.

However, NFL analyst Peter Schrager believes that could be a mistake.

In the latest edition of Good Morning Football, he urged people to stop sleeping on the Commanders.

He claimed that as much as people rave about Jayden Daniels and rightly so, the Commanders have had a very good offseason and have multiple weapons to make an impact.

He talked about how Austin Ekeler is a proven veteran who’s going to be the ultimate sounding board for their rookie quarterback, not to mention an established defender and tackling machine like Bobby Wagner.

Schrager also mentioned the likes of Zach Ertz, and the Commanders also have Terry McLaurin and Jahan Dotson, so they’re most definitely not short on playmakers.

The Commanders have finally moved on from Ron Rivera, and Quinn has proven to be one of the best defensive minds in today’s game, so they might finally be able to establish themselves there.

As for the offense, Kliff Kingsbury will give them another layer as well, and the fact that Marcus Mariota will be there to help Daniels is another factor why Schrager believes this team could be significantly better than most people give them credit for.

Some think it’ll take them a while to figure things out, but on paper, they have everything they need to get it done.
