The New England Patriots currently own the No. 3 overall pick in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft, and all indications point to the storied franchise selecting a quarterback with that pick.

However, the team will be limited in terms of their options with the No. 3 overall pick because the Chicago Bears (No. 1) and Washington Commanders (No. 2) are also expected to pick quarterbacks once they’re on the clock a week from now.

The consensus is that the Bears will bring in USC superstar Caleb Williams, while the Commanders will go with either Drake Maye from the University of North Carolina or LSU star Jayden Daniels.

That said, the Patriots will have to wait and see who is available once they’re on the clock at No. 3, but once they do get their chance to bring in a potential franchise quarterback, it’ll be either Maye or Daniels, according to Peter Schrager of FOX Sports via “The Pat McAfee Show.”

“From what I’ve heard, the Patriots really like Drake Maye and Jayden Daniels,” Schrager said.

The Patriots can’t really go wrong with this pick if they are indeed fans of Daniels and Maye because one of the two will be available after the Bears and Commanders have made their selections on April 25.

However, it’s impossible to tell which one or if either of them will be successful on the NFL level, as both players have been questioned extensively during this draft evaluation process.

It seems as though Williams is the only quarterback in the draft that teams are pretty sure will become a bona fide superstar and a true franchise quarterback.
