The Little League Classic has taken place in every Major League Baseball season since 2017, excluding the pandemic-shortened 2020 campaign.

The St. Louis Cardinals and Pittsburgh Pirates played in the first ever Little League Classic.

Last night, the Philadelphia Phillies and Washington Nationals faced off against one another in this year’s Classic.

Washington beat the defending NL champions by a final score of 4-3.

After the game, the two MLB squads shook hands like the Little League teams do after each game.

On Twitter, MLB posted a video featuring the two squads shaking hands following the final out.

Baseball is a game that promotes sportsmanship and fun at the Little League level.

Ever since 2017, MLB has put on this event to give Little Leaguers a chance to witness the professionals play the game and see how they conduct themselves on a daily basis.

And last night, these young players got a chance to watch some of the best players in the business such as Bryce Harper, Kyle Schwarber, Nick Castellanos, CJ Abrams, and Lane Thomas.

It was this week’s Sunday night telecast on ESPN, but it was also a chance for these children to get a closer look at how players in the Majors conduct themselves.

For the Phillies and Nationals, it was somewhat of a blast from the past, as the two teams shook hands following the final out.
