The Philadelphia Phillies are headed back to the postseason.
That should not be a surprise to many as they have one of the best teams in the National League all season.
Last season, they took the third Wild Card spot all the way to the World Series.
This year, they are looking to do the same thing from the first Wild Card spot.
One thing the Phillies have going for them in the first round is they get to host the series.
All three games of that series will be at Citizens Bank Park, which is one of the best home crowds in the sport.
According to John Clark, Phillies manager Rob Thompson loves the playoff atmosphere in Philly.
Thompson said the atmosphere in last year’s playoffs was something he had never experienced before.
Phillies manager Rob Thomson when describing Red October says when he stepped onto the field for the first postseason game in Philly last year, he had never experienced an atmosphere like that at any ballpark in his career. And he was with the Yankees for many many years. pic.twitter.com/9uVROOYjfR

The “Red October” in Philadelphia is something all fans take seriously.
Fans were without playoff baseball from 2012-2021.
That just goes to show these fans are not taking postseason baseball for granted.
Hosting the Wild Card round gives the Phillies a massive advantage.
But, they will not have home-field advantage in the NLDS.
Most likely they will be heading to Atlanta to take on the Braves.
Last year, the Phillies were able to beat the Braves in four games in the NLDS.
This year, the Braves present a different set of challenges.
Their lineup is by far the best in baseball, and they hit a ton of home runs.
It may be cliche but pitching wins in the playoffs, and the Phillies pitching needs to be at its best.
