The Philadelphia Phillies are getting ready for a huge three-game series with the Miami Marlins.

The Phillies are in first in the NL Wild Card, while the Marlins sit 0.5 games back from the final Wild Card spot.

Both teams need this series to increase their chances of playing in the postseason.

The Phillies got some great news as one of their best players is back on the active roster.

According to the Phillies, Trea Turner was reinstated from the paternity list.

The Phillies reinstated shortstop Trea Turner from the paternity list yesterday. To make room for him on the 28-man roster, the club optioned infielder/outfielder Weston Wilson to triple-A Lehigh Valley yesterday.

That is huge news for the Phillies as Turner has been their hottest hitter of late.

When he is in the lineup the Phillies are a much better team.

Over the past 30 games, Turner has been playing at an MVP level.

He is hitting .347 with 12 home runs, 33 RBI, and an OPS over 1.000.

It took Turner a while to get acclimated to playing in Philadelphia.

His early-season struggles were well documented.

But, now he is playing like the player the Phillies thought they were signing to an 11-year contract.

Last season, the Phillies went from the final NL Wild Card spot to the World Series.

They will need to have a similar run this year.

Due to the play of the Atlanta Braves, the Phillies have no chance of winning their division.

But, they have shown getting hot at the right time is all you need to get to the Fall Classic.

Major playoff implications are coming up in this Phillies/Marlins series.

Before the season, that is not something many people would have thought to be saying in September.
