Scott Rolen is set to join Fred McGriff in the Hall of Fame this afternoon.

Rolen played 17 seasons in Major League Baseball, spending the bulk of his career with the Philadelphia Phillies and St. Louis Cardinals.

The legendary third baseman chose to enter Cooperstown with a Cardinals hat on his plaque.

Today is the big day, and Rolen will soon be enshrined in the Hall of Fame.

The eight-time Gold Glover and seven-time All-Star also got a chance to see his parents prior to the induction ceremony.

On Twitter, the Cardinals posted a few pictures of the 2006 World Series champion hugging his mother and father outside of the museum.

The night Rolen was elected to the Hall, he paid his parents a visit and shared an emotional and touching moment with them as he shared the big news.

On Sunday, he got another chance to do that before being officially enshrined in Cooperstown forever.

They certainly understand everything that their son has been through and all the work he put in to become one of the best third basemen in the history of baseball.

Without their support, none of this would have been possible.

But they believed in their son and watched him put in countless hours of hard work to become the best player he could possibly be.

And now, all that hard work is being rewarded with a spot in the most sacred and prestigious place in all of baseball.

Rolen has certainly earned this honor, and he’ll go down as one of the greatest players the game has ever seen.
