The Pittsburgh Pirates were one of several teams that announced that this year, they would be revealing their new Nike City Connect uniforms.
On Thursday, the Pirates officially revealed those new uniforms.
As is the case with most teams’ City Connect uniforms, the Pirates’ new threads pay homage to the past while also showing off some new designs.
The Baltimore Orioles, Texas Rangers, Cincinnati Reds, and Seattle Mariners have all revealed their new uniforms this season.
On Twitter, MLB posted a collage of photos featuring stars such as Bryan Reynolds, David Bednar, Jack Suwinski, and Andrew McCutchen donning the new uniforms.

These are some cool looking new uniforms for the Pirates.
As previously touched upon, City Connect jerseys often pay homage to the past while also adding a piece of the present and future to their look.
The jerseys are yellow, which pays homage to the “We are family” Pirates from the 1970s.
Those jerseys were yellow in color with a black trim.
The new hats are also yellow and feature a black “P” for the Pittsburgh logo.
On the jersey reads “PGH”, an abbreviation for Pittsburgh.
The pants are black with a yellow trim, similarly to the 1970s uniforms.
The Pirates start a four-game weekend series with the Miami Marlins, and could potentially wear these new uniforms at a certain point during this series.
These uniforms are a cool way to turn back the clock and show off bits and pieces of the Pirates’ long and rich history.
