At one point, the Detroit Pistons were the cream of the crop in the NBA, with stars like Isiah Thomas, Joe Dumars, Dennis Rodman, Bill Laimbeer, Chauncey Billups, Rasheed Wallace, Tayshaun Prince, and Richard Hamilton leading the franchise to a total of three titles in different eras.
Unfortunately for Detroit, the team’s winning ways have disappeared in this current era of basketball in Michigan, with the Pistons being one of the worst teams in the league year after year in the Eastern Conference.
Even though the team brought in one of the best head coaches in the league ahead of the 2023-24 NBA season, Monty Williams was unable to lead this team back to glory in the East, as the Pistons finished this past season with a league-worst record of 14-68.
Needless to say, things haven’t been going well in Detroit, and some drastic changes need to be made to get back on track and compete with the best in the East.
As a result of having a forgettable season with seemingly no direction moving forward, Detroit is planning to part ways with general manager Troy Weaver, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

This will likely be the first substantial move of many needed to make the Pistons relevant once again, as there’s no telling when this once-promising young team will be able to turn things around in Detroit.
Only time will tell what Trajan Langdon can do to help this storied franchise get back to being a force to be reckoned with in the NBA.
