Monty Williams, head coach of the Detroit Pistons, is experiencing the roughest of rough patches and his team has a shockingly harsh 2-17 record right now.
But only a couple of years ago, Williams’ last team, the Phoenix Suns, held a very different record.
ClutchPoints highlighted the fact that in November 2021, the Suns had a 16-0 record, which is a night-and-day difference from the 0-15 record the Pistons had in November 2023.

The Pistons didn’t have much to be thankful for during the month of November as they faced one defeat followed by another.
Winning is a distant memory and the last time they secured a victory was back on October 28, against the Chicago Bulls.
That was their third game of the season and although they have come close a few times, they haven’t picked up another win.
Williams knew what he was getting into when he signed his monster contract with Detroit in the summer and was well aware of the challenges awaiting the young team.
But even he didn’t expect to hold this sort of record.
Although the Suns earned a 16-0 record in November of 2021, they were also once a very bad team.
It took time, strategy, and patience, but the Suns eventually transformed into one of the best teams in the Western Conference, partly because of the leadership of Williams.
That is one of the reasons why he was hired by the Pistons, who knew this process would take time.
Most fans of the Pistons have made peace with the fact that their team won’t reach the playoffs this year but they would like to see some minor signs of progress.
Instead, they have only seen loss after loss after loss.
