This past season with the Detroit Pistons, Cade Cunningham averaged 19.9 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 6 assists.
Unfortunately, he hasn’t played as much as he wanted because of an injury.
Still, he has still shown incredible promise and fans of the Pistons believe he could be the face of the franchise for years to come.
But can he be an All-Star?
Omari Sankofa of the Detroit Free Press sat down with the hosts of the Points in the Paint podcast recently.
He said that if the Pistons are even average next season, Cunningham could have a chance of being an All-Star.
“If they are within striking distance of a play-in spot, I do think Cade will be in that discussion in February,” Sankofa said.

He said that Cunningham has everything he needs to be an All-Star, at least on paper.
He definitely has the talent and he also has the sort of energetic style that would look so good during the All-Star Game.
But he won’t get much notice if his team is still sitting at the bottom of the Eastern Conference.
The Pistons were the worst team in the NBA last season, ending the year with a dismal 17-65 record.
They have made some changes in the offseason, however.
The biggest has been that they hired head coach Monty Wiliams with a massive contract that should hopefully shake up the future of the team.
The return of Cunningham will definitely be part of Williams’ plans.
Now that he will be back and ready to play, Williams and his staff can lay the groundwork for what will hopefully be an exciting return to playoff contention.
