One team that has shown interest in drafting a quarterback is the Dallas Cowboys.

While they have their franchise quarterback in Dak Prescott and a solid backup in Cooper Rush, the Cowboys are looking for a younger option.

This draft class seems to be full of quality quarterback options.

While there will be plenty selected in the first round, some of the later-round options are enticing as well.

According to Around The NFL, Purdue quarterback Aidan O’Connell has a meeting set with the Cowboys.

Dallas has done a lot of work on O’Connell in the pre-draft process.

He was a part of the East-West Shrine Game, and Dallas had plenty of eyes on him there.

The Cowboys have had a ton of success drafting experienced senior quarterbacks.

They did so when selecting Dak Prescott, as he was the Senior Bowl MVP in 2016.

Many scouts do not expect O’Connell to be a starting quarterback in the NFL.

That is why he is likely to be a day-three pick.

But, quality backups are very important and he has a chance to be that.

Last season, O’Connell threw for 3,490 yards, and 22 touchdowns with 13 interceptions.

He never lit up the scoreboard with statistics, but he was able to lead Purdue to bowl games each of the past two years.

Expect to see O’Connell’s name called at some point on day three of the draft.
