After a very disappointing 2022 season, the Las Vegas Raiders will look significantly different when they take the field next season.
For starters, they parted ways with quarterback Derek Carr, who had played and started nine seasons for them, and they will be going with former San Francisco 49ers signal-caller Jimmy Garoppolo under center.
They replaced wide receiver Mack Hollins with Jakobi Meyers, and they drafted tight end Michael Mayer, who was considered one of the best, if not the best TE prospect in this year’s draft, as well as talented edge rusher Tyree Wilson.
On Monday, Las Vegas released safety Jalen Elliott and tackle Sebastian Gutierrez, both of whom were rookies in 2022.

Elliott went undrafted after four seasons at the University of Notre Dame, and the Raiders were the third team he signed with, but the first team he actually saw game action for in the regular season.
He appeared in eight games and started one of them last season, mostly on special teams, and he recorded 12 combined tackles (seven solo).
Gutierrez was also undrafted onto the field for just one regular season contest in 2022.
The Raiders went just 6-11 last season despite landing star wide receiver Davante Adams in a stunning offseason trade and being expected by many to compete for a spot in the Super Bowl.
They lost several close games and blew numerous leads, which had many pointing the finger at head coach Josh McDaniels.
But McDaniels is still at the helm, and the Raiders will give it another try with a somewhat new crew.
