Over this past weekend, the Philadelphia 76ers let be known that they’ve ended trade talks involving superstar guard James Harden, which mainly seemed to include the Los Angeles Clippers.
On Monday, Harden responded to the news by going at Daryl Morey by calling him a “liar” while making his statement clear that he will never play for another organization that employs the veteran executive.
Although the relationship between Morey and Harden seemed to have already taken a turn for the worst, this announcement makes things that much more difficult in Philadelphia, as there’s no telling what moves the team may make next.
Apparently, Harden blasting Morey publicly like this is only the beginning of his plans to make the 76ers franchise incredibly uncomfortable ahead of training camp, according to Ramona Shelburne of ESPN.

Clearly, Harden isn’t happy that things aren’t going his way this summer and has targeted Morey as the reason he hasn’t been traded elsewhere at this point in the NBA offseason.
Ironically enough, Morey has been one of Harden’s few fans over the years, as at one point, they had a close relationship during their time with the Houston Rockets and reconnected in Philadelphia.
With Harden at the beginning stages of making the 76ers front office uncomfortable, it’ll be interesting to see what he has planned next, as it likely won’t be pretty and will be an ugly rest of the offseason for Philadelphia.
The real question is when and where Harden will land when the dust settles because, at this point, the superstar’s NBA future seems to be very much up in the air.
