After a forgettable 2022 NFL season in which the Los Angeles Rams failed to live up to expectations and didn’t look even close to the team that won the Super Bowl two years prior, Sean McVay’s squad was able to bounce back with a vengeance in 2023 by defying the odds and making it to the NFL playoffs.

Although the Rams were far from perfect during the 2023 campaign, Los Angeles showed a lot of promise for the future, even though last season turned out to be the last for superstar Aaron Donald, who decided to walk away from the game during this offseason.

Even without Donald leading the way on defense heading into the 2024 NFL season, the Rams could be a force to be reckoned with in the NFC, as this team has a chance to be a high-powered offense with star wide receivers Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua giving veteran quarterback Matthew Stafford one of the best duos to throw to this year.

With the Rams hoping to take a step forward rather than two steps back in 2024, the team, like all 32 teams in the league, needed to cut down their roster, with some of those roster moves being announced on Sunday via the team’s Twitter account.

The team waived WR J.J. Laap, OL Blake Larson, OL Alec Lindstrom, DB Cameron McCutcheon, RB SaRodorick Thompson, QB Dresser Winn, OL Matt Kaskey, LB Ochaun Mathis, OL Grant Miller, and LB Olakunle Fatukasi.

They also released RB Boston Scott and DE Carlos Watkins.

It’ll be interesting to see how the Rams fair during the upcoming regular season and if this team has what it takes to be a playoff team for a second straight year.

With the division-rival San Francisco 49ers getting all the attention right now in the NFC West, the Rams might be able to fly under the radar and quietly make their way back to the postseason.
