Rams Are Releasing Veteran Running Back

The Los Angeles Rams were one of the surprise teams of the 2023 NFL season as they managed to make the 2024 NFL Playoffs despite overhauling their roster the previous offseason.

Now, the Rams are firmly in playoff contention heading into the 2024 NFL season as they’ve got a well-balanced roster of up-and-coming players mixed with veterans.

Offensively, Los Angeles looks poised to run the football more as they invested in their offensive line during free agency.

Kyren Williams had a career year last season running the football, and now will get more opportunities to do damage on the ground.

Besides Williams, the Rams also have rookie Blake Corum and veteran Ronnie Rivers to help spell Williams who should handle the bulk of the touches in the backfield.

This leaves out Boston Scott who was recently waived by Los Angeles via Jordan Schultz.

Scott signed with the Rams earlier this offseason as a potential depth piece on offense and special teams.

The veteran had a good training camp and looked great in preseason, though his role on the team was never quite clear with so many players in front of him.

Because of his experience with the Philadelphia Eagles and Los Angeles, Scott should have no problem landing with a new team ahead of the 2024 season.

Running backs are typically the easiest position to replace on a roster, and there are several teams that could use someone like Scott to serve as insurance in case of an injury.
