The Los Angeles Rams are not a team many people are talking about heading into this season.

They are two years removed from winning the Super Bowl but were ravaged by injuries last season.

Now with an older roster, many people do not expect the Rams to compete for a Super Bowl.

Yet, they still have their championship core in place led by head coach Sean McVay and quarterback Matthew Stafford.

Even though the Rams have not made many changes to their roster, they did add a few veterans.

According to Jeremy Fowler, the Rams are bringing back former safety John Johnson III.

Johnson spent the first four seasons of his career as a member of the Rams.

He spent the last two years with the Cleveland Browns.

Now at the age of 27, Johnson has seemingly lost a step.

According to PFF, Johnson had a grade of 62.8 last year.

One spot he flourishes is at tackling.

He has recorded at least 100 total tackles in three of his six NFL seasons.

This includes last year when he had 101 in Cleveland.

But, Johnson can be exposed in the passing game, which is a cause for concern with any safety.

He allowed 22 receptions last year according to PFF, which was tied for 49th in the NFL.

Signing a player this late in the offseason usually means he will not play a vital role on their team.

Johnson was at his best during his first stint in LA.

Now the Rams hope they can get the best out of him again.
