The Los Angeles Lakers played a memorable game against the Toronto Raptors during the 2023-24 NBA season.

The two sides went neck to neck for the entire game, and at the end of the final buzzer, the Lakers emerged victorious as the final score stood at 132-131.

While there is no doubt that the Lakers played well, many believe that the 17-time NBA champions got unfair treatment from the referees.

After all, the Lakers shot 36 free throws during the game, while the Raptors went to the charity stripe just 13 times.

Keeping that in mind, Toronto Raptors head coach Darko Rajakovic was infuriated with the officiating and called them out during the postgame conference via TSN on Twitter.

“They had to win tonight? If that’s the case just let us know so we don’t show up for the game, just give them a win. But that was not fair tonight,” Rajakovic said.

While the officials are only human and they can make a few mistakes during the game, there is a difference in being completely biased towards one team during the game.

At the end of the day, Rajakovic urged the NBA to inform his team in advance if the league wants the Lakers to be rewarded a victory by any means necessary.

Considering the NBA is never shy about imposing fines on players and coaches, it won’t be a surprise if the Raptors’ head coach gets a fine.

Following the win, the Lakers may still be the 10th seed in the Western Conference, but they now have a 19-19 record.

However, the job is not done for the Lakers, as they are nowhere near to being one of the favorites to win the 2024 NBA Championship.
