The NBA might be the best basketball tournament on Earth in terms of talent, but that doesn’t mean it’s the only good tournament.
If anything, it’s quite different from the way the game is played all over the world, even involving different rules.
That’s why it’s not unusual to see players be superstars overseas and barely play in the NBA.
That doesn’t mean they’re not great players or actual stars; they’re just suited for a different style of basketball.
Notably, that may have been the case with Sasha Vezenkov.
According to Evan Sidery, Vezenkov will leave the States to head back to the Old Continent, signing a four-year, $17.1 million deal to return to Greek powerhouse Olympiacos.

Vezenkov spent one season with the Sacramento Kings but barely played.
He was recently traded to the Raptors alongside Davion Mitchell the draft rights to Jamal Shead, and a 2025 second-round draft pick in exchange for Jalen McDaniels, and he will most likely have to reach a buyout agreement with the Canadian side, as he’s still under contract for roughly under $7 million for the upcoming campaign.
A former EuroLeague MVP, the Serbian star never found his footing in the Association.
Now, he’ll look to head back home and get his career back on track with the team he dominated Europe for years.
