The 2016-17 Golden State Warriors went down as one of the greatest teams in NBA history.
They dominated throughout the course of the entire campaign and in the playoffs, and there was no team in the league that could’ve posed a legitimate threat to take them down.
However, they were a jump-shooting team, and there has always been talk about whether other great and more physical teams would’ve beaten them.
Recently, Draymond Green debated with Shaquille O’Neal about whether they could’ve beaten the 2000-01 Los Angeles Lakers.
With that in mind, former NBA star Rasheed Wallace shared his thoughts on this debate but from the 2003-04 Detroit Pistons’ perspective.
Unsurprisingly, the talented forward claimed that those Pistons would’ve destroyed the Warriors because they didn’t have anybody there who could’ve matched up with them (via Warriors on NBC Sports).
“We would’ve beat the s*** out of them. I’m gonna address that because … Draymond [Green] said this bull**** the other day on his and Shaq’s podcast. We would have beat the s*** out of them because of the simple fact that they couldn’t match up with us at any position,” Wallace said.

Granted, they played two different brands of basketball, and those Pistons were underrated, and their chemistry was unmatched.
Beating Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal and those Lakers was no fluke, and they were one of the toughest teams of all time.
However, that doesn’t mean they could’ve just crushed the Warriors.
For starters, the Warriors also had two generational scorers like Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant, and that team also played defense.
At the end of the day, many factors come into play.
Would the game be played under today’s rules or how it was played back in 2004?
This debate is futile, and nothing but wishful thinking, and everybody could make a case for their respective team.
