The Week 11 matchup against the Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals was a costly one for both sides as each team suffered major injuries to key players.

The Bengals got the worst of it as they lost Joe Burrow for the remainder of the 2023 NFL season after he suffered a wrist injury that required surgery.

However, the Ravens also lost a key member of their offense as they saw star tight end Mark Andrews go down early in the first quarter due to an ankle and leg injury.

Andrews got hurt after coming down with a reception and the defender seemed to land on his foot.

He needed help coming off the field and it was later announced that he suffered a cracked fibula and ankle ligament damage.

Andrew underwent surgery on his ankle and the Ravens announced that he was being placed on injured reserve via the team’s official Twitter account.

The move to injured reserve was expected given that head coach John Harbaugh said the ankle injury was likely season-ending, though he later backtracked and said there was an outside shot he could return deep in the playoffs.

However, the offense takes a huge hit as Andrews was Lamar Jackson’s most dependable receiver in the passing game.

Rookie Zay Flowers and perhaps Rashod Bateman are in line for more targets, and Isaiah Likely will step in as the team’s top tight end on the depth chart.

None of those three are the same caliber of player as Andrews, so offensive coordinator Todd Monken is going to have to get creative when it comes to playcalling.
