Before the 2023 NFL season got underway, the Baltimore Ravens were dealing with a lot of problems when it came to keeping superstar quarterback Lamar Jackson healthy and on the football field while also securing his long-term future with the team.
Fortunately for Baltimore, after a very public back-and-forth with Jackson about his contract situation, the Ravens were able to lock down the superstar quarterback, eliminating any distractions for the team.
Although health concerns will always surround a mobile quarterback like Jackson, the team was able to see what the superstar could do when healthy at this point in his career, as he went on to win NFL MVP for the second time last season.
After an incredible 2023 campaign, the Ravens have high hopes that the team is currently in a championship window and ready to compete with the best of the best in the AFC.
However, the team wants some depth at the quarterback position, which led to a decision made by the Ravens brass on Friday to bring in former Pro Bowl quarterback Tyler Huntley, according to Jordan Schultz of Bleacher Report.

Adding a quarterback with a skill set similar to Jackson’s is a smart move for the Ravens, even though he’s far from being an MVP-caliber talent.
Unless the team decides to release quarterback Josh Johnson, the Ravens will likely move forward with three quarterbacks on the roster, with Huntley in contention to be Jackson’s backup on the depth chart if he proves to be the more viable option than Johnson.
