During the AFC Championship Game last season, arguably the best team in the NFL got exposed by the defending Super Bowl champions, as the Baltimore Ravens didn’t stand a chance against Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Ravens looked like a completely different team against the Chiefs, as the offense couldn’t get going, with superstar quarterback Lamar Jackson, who won his second NFL MVP award as a result of his play during the regular season, looking terrified to use one of his biggest weapons by running the football.
Fortunately for Baltimore, Jackson and his teammates will have a chance for redemption as they get the 2024 NFL season underway, going on the road to take on the Chiefs in a highly anticipated rematch between two AFC heavyweights.
Although getting the offense going against the Chiefs will be critical to the Ravens’ success in Week 1, the defense will need to step up as well and stop arguably the best quarterback in the league from carving them up.
Ravens defensive coordinator Zach Orr recently revealed the biggest challenge facing an offense led by Mahomes.
“They can score anywhere on the field,” Orr said, via Jamison Hensley of ESPN.

The NFL’s season opener will be a measuring stick for both teams and a good indicator of what is to come for the Chiefs and Ravens, who both have Super Bowl aspirations again.
Baltimore will be under pressure to prove it has corrected some of the mistakes from the last meeting, or the Ravens’ outlook for the rest of the season could become a bigger storyline heading into Week 2.
