Ravens’ Receiver Sets High Expectations For This Season

The Baltimore Ravens have not been known for strong play from wide receivers during the Lamar Jackson era.

This is partially due to Jackson’s propensity to run, not giving receivers enough reps to develop.

Ahead of the 2023 season, that could all change for this offense.

The Ravens brought in Todd Monken as their offensive coordinator, who is said to give the offense new life.

This is potentially great news for players like Rashod Bateman, getting an opportunity for more receptions.

In a recent conversation with Jamison Hensley shared via Pro Football Talk, Bateman said, “Hopefully, the third time is the charm in Charm City.”

Bateman was a first-round draft pick in 2021, a highly-touted player from the University of Minnesota.

While he came into the league with high hopes, injury concerns have kept him off the field.

In two NFL seasons, Bateman has played in just 18 games, starting nine of those contests.

With any luck, Bateman will be fully healthy this year, and with Monken’s new offensive schemes, he will prove his worth on this team.

Jackson was recently signed to a massive contract extension, trying he and Bateman together for the next few years.

Bateman is joined by Zay Flowers, Odell Beckham Jr., J.K. Dobbins, and Mark Andrews in this loaded offense.

While he might have an uphill battle for a massive target share, Bateman’s 2023 season could yield great dividends.

The Ravens are fighting for the top spot in the AFC North, looking to best compete with the Cincinnati Bengals.

Will Bateman be healthy enough to be a valuable contributor?
