Heading into the NFL offseason, the Baltimore Ravens were in danger of seeing their franchise and the future of the team head into disarray, with superstar quarterback Lamar Jackson having some contract demands that the team wasn’t willing to meet.

All signs pointed to disaster in Baltimore, especially after it became public knowledge that Jackson had informed the team to trade him if they weren’t willing to meet his contract demands, which leaned heavily on guaranteed money.

Fortunately, in a drastic turn of events, the Ravens were able to see eye-to-eye with Jackson on a new deal, which was obviously great news for the future of the franchise.

Along with Jackson re-signing with the team, Baltimore was able to bring in superstar Odell Beckham Jr. and talented rookie wide receiver Zay Flowers and now have brought in a reigning Super Bowl champion at the running back position.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Ravens have agreed to a one-year deal with veteran running back Melvin Gordon, via NFL on ESPN.

As if the Ravens offense wasn’t intimidating enough with a potent passing game, one of the most mobile quarterbacks in the NFL, and J.K. Dobbins coming out of the backfield, Baltimore adds a savvy veteran into the mix.

Although Gordon is on the downside of his career and is no longer that Pro-Bowl-caliber back of old, the two-time Pro Bowler will fit in perfectly in Baltimore while providing some insurance at the running back position, which is much needed with Dobbins’ injury issues over the past few years.
