Red Sox Insider Calls For Significant Change

The Boston Red Sox are a team that has been up and down this season.

After a solid start to the season, the Red Sox have slipped to last place in the American League East.

On Tuesday, they were dealt another tough blow as they fell to the Colorado Rockies by a final score of 7-6.

They are now 33-35 and have lost back-to-back games.

Boston is also 3-7 in their last 10.

On Twitter, Red Sox insider Pete Abraham noted some troubling trends this season for the team and posed the question of whether or not things will change soon with the organization.

#RedSox:

* 227-225 last four seasons.
* 111-119 last two seasons.
* 4 home sellouts this season.
* Last place all but 27 days since July 26, 2022.
* Endless roster churn.

At what point does ownership decide this is not working? Because it’s clearly not.

To put things into perspective, the Red Sox are 227-225 over the past four seasons.

Over the last two seasons, Boston is 111-119.

They have only sold out at Fenway Park four times this season and have been in last place for all but 27 days since July 26 of last season.

Notable roster churn has also taken place.

Players such as Xander Bogaerts, Michael Wacha, Nathan Eovaldi, and J.D. Martinez are no longer with the club.

Much of the roster churn even dates back as far as 2020, when Mookie Betts was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Needless to say, the Red Sox have tried a lot of things and ultimately are not getting the results they wanted.

Abraham pointed out that a lot of what the Red Sox have tried is not working at the moment, and posed the question of whether or not changes are forthcoming.

The Red Sox last reached the postseason in 2021 and have yet to win a World Series title since 2018.
