The City of Boston is deeply rooted in the history of sports.
With four sports teams that have a long history of winning, fans are always emotionally charged and ready to root on their teams.
Next Friday, the Boston Red Sox will open up a three-game weekend series against the defending National League champion Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park.
Interestingly though, the Red Sox are not the only Boston sports team in town that weekend.
Across the street at Wells Fargo Center, the Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers will be playing Game 3 of the Eastern Conference semifinals in the NBA playoffs.
On Twitter, Red Sox writer Steve Perrault noted this interesting coincidence.
In things that make you say “oh that’s interesting,” the Red Sox and Celtics will be playing right across the street from each other at the same time next Friday night in Philadelphia. pic.twitter.com/qWFqAI20cM

Philadelphia is another city that is passionate about their sports teams.
Next week, fans from Philadelphia and Boston will be together in the same city for two different events.
Some will travel to see the Red Sox and Phillies go at it in their weekend series.
But others will be interested in the NBA playoffs.
This is a very interesting coincidence, that two teams from both cities will converge in Philadelphia for two separate matchups.
Given that it’s early in the MLB regular season, Game 3 at Wells Fargo Center may be more tightly packed than Citizens Bank Park.
Still, both venues will be exciting atmospheres for fans of each team present, regardless of what they traveled to Philadelphia for.
One thing is for sure, though.
Both fanbases for each team are going to be ready to roll as sports worlds collide with one another.
