Tuesday was just another day at the office for the red-hot Cincinnati Reds, who won their 10th consecutive game as they held off a late rally by the Colorado Rockies.

The Reds’ young core has been the driving force on this recent run.

Stars such as Elly De La Cruz, Hunter Greene, Spencer Steer, Alexis Diaz, Andrew Abbott, and Ben Lively have helped change the fortunes of their season.

Another key piece of the puzzle is infielder Matt McClain, who is hitting .313 with an .851 OPS through the first 33 games of his Major League career.

On Wednesday, McClain stopped by MLB Network to discuss the Reds’ recent success with Alanna Rizzo.

McClain says that it has been fun to be a part of the recent run of success and that the team is currently feeling “good vibes” each day.

The young slugger also discussed how the Reds have been referring to themselves as “America’s Team” and how that came about.

McClain said that he feels the description is accurate because the Reds are playing for each other and showing up each day to compete.

He isn’t quite sure where it came from, however, but says that it caught on pretty quickly and the Reds have embraced it.

Finally, McClain discussed the recent return of Joey Votto and how it has been a boon for these Reds.

McClain stated that Votto is a fun player to be around and is somebody that the players look up to in the clubhouse.
