The Houston Rockets got an electrifying bucket-getter in the NBA Draft.
Reed Sheppard drew plenty of praise and attention during his days in college, and it didn’t take long before some of his colleagues took notice of his game during Summer League.
Sheppard caught the eye of two fellow NBA stars with a knack for scoring.
Trae Young and Ja Morant took to Twitter to show some love for his game, and the Kentucky product was humbled by it (via NBA).

When shown the praise, Sheppard called them tremendous players and stated that it was ‘really cool’ to watch the guys he’s watched in the league talk about him.
Young, on the other hand, added that ‘game recognizes game,’ so he had to send him love after watching him perform.
Sheppard and Young might have more in common than some fans realize.
Young is clearly the superior playmaker, but he’s not as efficient as a scorer as Sheppard is.
However, they can both shoot the lights out from all three levels and get crafty buckets in a variety of ways.
On the downside, they’re both undersized and not particularly very athletic, and they’re also targets on the defensive end of the floor.
But if Young has carved himself a niche in the league and has been one of the leading scorers and passers in the game since he entered the NBA, there’s no reason to think that Sheppard won’t be able to find a place on the floor as well.
