The San Francisco 49ers and Brandon Aiyuk have to reach an agreement.
The talented wide receiver is looking to get a new contract, but he doesn’t have much leverage in this situation.
The Niners could simply opt to keep him and force him to play, as he’s still under contract for another season.
He’s slated to make $14.12 million with the fifth-year option of his contract, but he’s reportedly looking to get twice as much as that.
The Niners were adamant about not moving him earlier in the offseason, but with Aiyuk still pushing to get a new contract and still not practicing despite showing up to training camp, they may have reconsidered that stance.
According to a report by Mike Reiss of ESPN, the Niners are finally listening to trade offers for their All-Pro wideout (via Adam Schefter).
The San Francisco 49ers are now willing to listen to trade offers for Brandon Aiyuk and have given the star wide receiver permission to negotiate a contract with other teams.

Per Reiss, the New England Patriots and Cleveland Browns are actively trying to get Aiyuk, with the Pittsburgh Steelers also being linked to him.
The Patriots have reportedly been the most aggressive suitor thus far, and they’ve been trying to get him for months.
Even so, the report also states that the Niners are willing to keep Aiyuk if they’re not comfortable with the potential return they could get in a trade, so whoever wants him will most likely have to pay up to get him.
This situation has gone on for months and it doesn’t seem like Aiyuk is going to change his stance at this point, so it remains to be seen if the Niners will grant him his wish or not.
