The Milwaukee Bucks are hoping to have a new season much better than the last and it sounds like they’ll be attempting that with the same lineup they had last year.

According to Brian Windhorst, per NBACentral, the Bucks have informed Brook Lopez that they have “no plans” to trade him.

Will the Bucks have more success with the same roster?

On paper, the return of Lopez makes perfect sense.

He averaged 12.5 points and 5.2 rebounds on 48.5% from the field per game last season and was again one of the most important parts of Milwaukee’s defense.

Still, there were countless rumors about Lopez leaving the Bucks this summer or before the next trade deadline.

Why would that happen if he is still playing well?

Part of it would have to do with money because the Bucks don’t want to spend more cash than they have to.

Additionally, there have been calls from some fans to change the team since they keep coming up short.

Others are urging caution and patience because this new-look team is still figuring itself out.

The Damian Lillard-Giannis Antetokounmpo era is still young and head coach Doc Rivers has had less than a season to decide how he wants to lead the team.

The Bucks might need more time to show off all their potential.

They fell apart in the playoffs last season but that was without Lillard and Antetokonmpo, who both got injured at the worst time.

So even without any changes, the Bucks could be much better in the new season and Lopez will be along for the ride.
