The Cleveland Cavaliers have a strong roster on paper, though it’ll be tough sledding for them to get over the hump in a loaded Eastern Conference that features teams like the Boston Celtics, New York Knicks, Milwaukee Bucks and Philadelphia 76ers.
Those four teams are considered to be the main threats for the NBA Finals, though the Cavaliers firmly belong in the tier right below them.
Cleveland doesn’t lack talent as they’ve got an All-Star backcourt of Darius Garland and Donovan Mitchell and an exciting frontcourt featuring Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen.
The only thing missing on the roster is a tried-and-true 3-and-D wing who can act as a playmaker and scorer when needed.
Isaac Okoro has shown flashes throughout his career of being that level of player, but hasn’t been able to put it all together quite yet.
After singing both Mobley and Allen to extensions earlier this offseason, it appears that Okoro could be moved before the start of the 2024-25 NBA season via Sam Amico of Hoopswire.com.
“Cavs Expected To Try To Trade Isaac Okoro Within Next Month,” Amico reported.

Okoro is a restricted free agent which means he’s free to sign with other teams though Cleveland will have the right to match any offers.
However, Okoro might find it difficult to find the money he’s looking for as most teams have used up their cap space.
The forward could instead sign his qualifying offer and enter unrestricted free agency next offseason, though that’s a gamble he’d have to be willing to take to cash out.
