Over the years, it has seemed as if everything Tom Brady has touched has turned into gold.
The recently retired quarterback has seven Super Bowl championships, three regular-season MVPs, and five Super Bowl MVP awards under his belt, and he is considered by most to be the greatest player in NFL history.
But no one, not even Brady, is completely infallible.
According to the New York Times, via Front Office Sports, he and his ex-wife Gisele Bündchen lost $48 million in shares of FTX, the failed cryptocurrency company, when it collapsed in November 2022.

Cryptocurrency has been all the rage in recent years, especially for Millennials and Generation Z, and many have claimed it will someday supplant traditional currency.
But the format has been in trouble over the last several months, and many have lost lots of money as a result.
Luckily, Brady earned much more than $48 million during his 23-year playing career, so it is unlikely he will find himself destitute anytime soon.
After all, he did sign a lucrative contract with Fox Sports to become its lead color commentator for telecasts of NFL games.
That contract will reportedly be worth a stunning $375 million over 10 years, which seems to rival the kind of money he made during his playing career.
A few months after the cryptocurrency collapse, Brady was in good enough financial shape to purchase a minority stake in the WNBA’s Las Vegas Aces, the league’s defending champs.
