Cowboys fans have surely been bracing for a tumultuous offseason coming off a devastating early playoff exit at the hands of the Green Bay Packers.
Surprisingly, ownership and the front office have publicly endorsed quarterback Dak Prescott and head coach Mike McCarthy, as both will be returning for 2024.
One guy who might not be returning is running back Tony Pollard, who according to Calvin Watkins of Dallas News, is willing to take less to return to Dallas.

Pollard is entering free agency as a soon-to-be 27-year-old and coming off a disappointing season where he posted 1,005 yards and six touchdowns.
There were expectations for Pollard to take the next step now that he was finally out of the shadow of Ezekiel Elliott, but Pollard posted the lowest yards per carry of his career at 4.0.
He only averaged 5.7 yards per reception as well with his career-high 55 catches.
Pollard will be competing with some big names in the free agent RB market, with Saquon Barkley, Derrick Henry, Austin Ekeler, Josh Jacobs, and D’Andre Swift all hitting free agency as well.
Pollard played on the franchise tag last year for a little over $10 million, so it will be interesting to see how close he can get to repeating that number going forward.
Running back salaries have been a hot topic over the past few years as teams are becoming more and more hesitant to allocate big money to the position due to the increased injury risk.
That’s where Pollard has leverage, as he has played at least 15 games in each of his five years, including a full 17-game slate in 2023.
Spotrac has the Cowboys currently $4 million over the cap.
