The Boston Celtics are on a roll right now.
They’re tied for the best record in the league and sit atop the Eastern Conference, and a lot of that has had to do with Jayson Tatum’s stellar play.
Tatum’s offensive game was already quite polished, but he’s taking it to a whole new level this season.
The biggest difference has been his elite footwork and work on the post, which is why NBA analyst Marc D’Amico recently compared him to Kobe Bryant, stating that his game has never been more similar.

Needless to say, this might be the biggest compliment a guy like Tatum could get.
He grew up idolizing Bryant and even got to work out with him shortly after his retirement, and he was clearly hurt after his sudden and tragic passing.
Bryant dissected Tatum’s game when he was just walking his first steps in the league, and he gave him several pointers.
It took him some time, but it seems like the Duke product has finally reached his best version yet.
Tatum is on the verge of getting a record-breaking contract extension.
And while it was never in doubt that he was going to get as much money as he could get in his next deal, watching him play at this level should make Brad Stevens feel great about the move he’s about to make.
Tatum is playing like one of the best three players in the league this season, and don’t be shocked if he ends up running away with MVP honors.
