The next era of Carolina Panthers football is here as the team is set to unleash No. 1 overall pick Bryce Young loose.

Young represents a fresh start to the Panthers franchise which had been looking for their quarterback of the future.

Under new head coach Frank Reich, there’s optimism about the rebuilding Carolina squad and their long-term prospects.

Young will have some quality weapons to begin his NFL career with, but he’ll also have the help of some veterans to ease his transition into a professional offensive scheme.

One of those players is Adam Thielen, who joined the Panthers after being released by the Minnesota Vikings.

Thielen was previously questionable for Week 1 with an ankle injury, but it sounds like he’ll be able to give it a go against the Atlanta Falcons via Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network.

Panthers WR Adam Thielen is expected to play tomorrow vs. Falcons despite ankle injury, per sources.

Carolina star pass rusher Brian Burns is also making the trip with team to Atlanta for Sunday’s game amid lingering contract dispute, per source.

At this point in his career, Thielen has dealt with his fair share of injuries but it’s good to see that he’ll be able to suit up for an NFC South divisional game.

The wideout room needed a steady presence like Thielen who is a quarterback-friendly player as he’s got sure hands and is an excellent route runner.

Aside from Thielen, Young will also have players like Jonathan Mingo, Laviska Shenault, and Hayden Hurst to throw to while Miles Sanders will ease the pressure off him on the ground.

Unfortunately, Carolina is missing one of their primary receiving options in D.J. Chark, who is still recovering from a hamstring injury that he suffered a few weeks ago.
