On Sunday night, LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers spoke frankly about retirement and how much longer he has in the league.

He wouldn’t get specific about his timeline, but he did clearly state that he knows his time in the NBA is coming to an end.

But fans all over the world are still wondering where James will retire.

Jovan Buha wrote about James’ possibilities for The Athletic and revealed that the Lakers unsurprisingly want James to retire with them.

Buha also noted that James feels the same way and hopes to spend the rest of his career in Los Angeles with the Lakers.

James said that he doesn’t “have much time left” and that he knows he is in the final chapter of his career.

That’s an honest statement from the four-time champion and it once again brings up potential scenarios for how it’ll all play out.

Obviously, James would love to score one more championship before he steps away from the game.

However, it currently seems like that isn’t possible with the Lakers, as they are still not one of the best units in the West.

But if James wants to remain with his team, there are still options for him to win another title.

This would require that the Lakers’ front office make adjustments and trades in the near future, which is very possible.

In fact, it is assumed that GM Rob Pelinka will be hard at work this summer attempting to land a third star to play beside James and Anthony Davis.

Over the last few months, many reports have come out stating that James and the Lakers will likely be together until he retires.

But can the team around him get better and find postseason success before he leaves the league?
