Retired NBA Star Says He Could Make Warriors Team

Young NBA fans might not know or remember, but there was a time when Baron Davis was one of the most entertaining players to watch, not only in basketball but in all sports.

He could score in bunches, dunk on people, hand out dimes like the best of them, and he had a smooth game and versatile bag of moves.

If that wasn’t enough, he was also an outstanding defender, even leading the league in steals twice.

That’s why, even at age 45, he believes he could still make an NBA comeback.

Talking to Draymond Green on his podcast, the Bay area legend claimed that he could definitely make the Warriors’ roster (via The Volume).

Green told him to get in shape, yet Davis claimed that he could be like ‘a baby Luka (Doncic),’ handing out dimes while coming off the bench.

Davis stated that he could make the roster this season even if he was out of shape, to which Green claimed that he was being disrespectful.

They wound up making a friendly wager, with Green making sure that he’d get an invite to next season’s training camp if he got in shape to see if he could make the roster.

Needless to say, the chances of him making an NBA roster are quite slim, particularly if he hasn’t played professional basketball since 2016 and in the NBA since 2012.

From a talent perspective, however, Davis could’ve definitely played not only today but in any era of the NBA.
