On Sunday evening, Brock Purdy and the San Francisco 49ers put on a clinic as they destroyed the Dallas Cowboys by a final score of 42-10.
Purdy delivered a performance that was arguably the best of his career, as he threw for 252 yards and four touchdowns, which amounted to an incredibly impressive 144.4 passer rating.
On Monday, former NFL head coach Rex Ryan compared the current 49ers quarterback to one of the franchise’s most legendary signal-callers of all time.

That’s quite the comparison for someone like Purdy, who hasn’t even played a full NFL season yet.
But Ryan clearly feels like he shares some of the same skills and traits with Joe Montana, the guy who helped lead the franchise to four Super Bowl wins during his tenure with the team.
Believe it or not, Purdy is actually better at this stage in his career than Montana was, as the 49ers’ current quarterback is 10-0 in regular-season starts with a career 114.4 passer rating, while the San Francisco Hall of Fame signal-caller was 2-8 during his first 10 starts with the franchise.
With no losses on their record yet this year, Purdy and the 49ers are certainly on track to earn the organization their sixth Super Bowl win in team history.
San Francisco is off to a great start this season, and they looked unstoppable on Sunday night in their demolition of the Cowboys.
Will anyone end up figuring out a way to slow down Purdy and the 49ers this year, or is this team just on its way to becoming one of the best in the history of the NFL?
