After an impressive win over the Houston Texans last week, with quarterback Zach Wilson having one of the best performances of his NFL career, the New York Jets took two steps back in Week 15 against the division-rival Miami Dolphins, who put on an offensive clinic even without Tyreek Hill.

The only thing that has really kept the Jets afloat this season after superstar quarterback Aaron Rodgers went down with an Achilles injury in Week 1 against the Buffalo Bills has been their defense, but it was virtually nonexistent Sunday against one of the best offenses in the league.

The Jets didn’t stand a chance against the shorthanded Dolphins, with the team putting up 30 points and keeping Wilson and company to zero throughout the entire contest between these AFC East rivals.

Even though Rodgers had teased his return to the field if the Jets were still in playoff contention, with next week being the target date, it seems that likely won’t be happening now, with New York now officially out of playoff contention.

Rich Eisen couldn’t help but take a little jab at the Jets and Rodgers after the game on Sunday, claiming the doctors will keep him out of the rest of the season due to how bad the team’s offensive line is this season.

Doctors: Sorry, @AaronRodgers12. We can’t clear you.

Rodgers: Based on your medical opinion?

Doctors: No, based on your offensive line.

Well before the Jets took the field in Week 1 against the Bills, the team’s offensive line was getting heavily criticized for its inability to block and protect Rodgers.

Clearly, the team will need to address that problem during the NFL offseason if this team hopes to be a title contender in 2024, or it could be a long season for Rodgers and company next year as well.
