Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James could very well get his wish soon as his son Bronny James is slated to be picked at some point during the 2024 NBA Draft in June.

Bronny suffered a scary health incident last summer and was forced to miss months of basketball activity before being cleared.

The young guard would eventually get cleared and appeared for the USC Trojans during the season, though he had an up-and-down year as he worked his way back into basketball shape.

Bronny decided to enter his name in the draft and has seen his stock rise as he’s gone through the pre-draft process with strong workouts.

While LeBron would likely prefer to play with his son, he has also emphasized that he wants his son to carve his own path in the league.

Helping Bronny along the way is his agent Rich Paul who has publicly said that he won’t let his client sign a two-way contract via Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report.

“Rich Paul says his client, Bronny James, will not sign a two-way contract which allows players to be on an NBA and G-League team,’ Haynes reported.

It’s odd that Paul would remove an avenue toward an NBA roster spot, but he understands that two-way contract players typically will toil in the G League before being promoted.

From the looks of it, Paul would prefer that Bronny land on a team with a guaranteed roster spot so he can utilize the team’s resources and training staffs to develop.

Teams like the Lakers might decide to take a swing on Bronny later in the draft, though it remains to be seen who’ll take the gamble.
