ESPN’s Richard Jefferson and Kendrick Perkins never hold back when they go at one another on NBA Today, and that was no different this week.
Jefferson couldn’t help himself when Perkins was talking about the Phoenix Suns putting together a superteam with the addition of star guard Bradley Beal to join superstars Kevin Durant and Devin Booker.
The former NBA journeyman took a shot at Perkins’ former team in the Boston Celtics, who won it all in 2008 at the expense of Kobe Bryant’s Los Angeles Lakers.
Jefferson brought up the sore subject of the beef between former Celtics stars Ray Allen and Rajon Rondo, which could be why they didn’t win another title.
Although Perkins looked mad initially, even though he always looks mad, he started to crack up via NBA on ESPN.

Even though, at times, these two want to strangle each other after hearing their hot takes and wild theories, they clearly don’t take things too personally, as it’s all fun and games on NBA Today these days.
It does make one wonder if the beef between Allen and Rondo didn’t blow up the way it did, that things might have turned out differently for the Celtics.
After losing to the Lakers in the 2010 NBA Finals, Boston was never the same with their core of star players, leading to Allen jumping ship in 2012 to join LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh on the Miami Heat.
Allen went on to win one more title, while Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce were left empty-handed.
However, Rondo won a title with the Lakers in 2020 while also playing alongside James.
