NBA superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo recently put the Milwaukee Bucks — and the league as a whole — on notice with some interesting remarks.

He claimed that he wouldn’t be the best version of himself if he didn’t feel like everybody in the organization was on the same page, hinting at not signing a contract extension with the team if he didn’t believe they were on the right path.

That’s why former NBA champion Richard Jefferson said on his podcast that he believes the only thing the Bucks can do to keep the Greek Freak in their ranks is to win an NBA championship in the next two years.

Jefferson likes the Bucks’ chances with Adrian Griffin as their new coach, and they’ll have a two-year window to repeat as champions.

Otherwise, he doesn’t see Giannis extending his stay in Wisconsin.

The former Defensive Player of the Year stated that there was no way he was going to sign an extension this season because it didn’t make any sense financially, so the Bucks have at least one year to convince him that they’re doing everything in their power to repeat as champions.

Giannis was critical of coach Mike Budenholzer’s lack of adjustments in the playoffs, and they fired him.

Then, they kept him involved in their coaching search, so they’re clearly still 100% committed to him.

But with new ownership taking charge of the team and the league getting more competitive by the year, Giannis’ frustration and determination to win the ultimate prize again could take him to new places.
