Four-time Pro Bowl offensive linemen don’t exactly grow on trees in the NFL.
They have to be molded and shaped to become the best possible players that they can be.
Former offensive lineman Richie Incognito, who spent 13 years in the NFL with multiple teams such as the St. Louis Rams, Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, and Oakland/Las Vegas Raiders, recently talked about who his mentor was while in the league on The Rush Podcast.
“Early on, it was a guy in Kyle Turley…He was in St. Louis before I got drafted there…I got to know him and train with him in the offseason…He was a guy I wanted to be,” Incognito stated.

The best players in the NFL become the best by learning from those that come before them.
Look at Aaron Rodgers learning from Brett Favre or even Patrick Mahomes learning from Alex Smith.
For Incognito, he got to learn from an All-Pro offensive tackle in Turley, who spent a total of nine seasons in the league with the New Orleans Saints, St. Louis Rams, and Kansas City Chiefs.
Incognito ended up starting in all 164 games that he played in during his long career, and he even had eight seasons where he played in at least 15 games.
That does not always happen in a physical sport like football, especially when it comes to a player who played multiple positions along the line.
For young offensive linemen looking to make a name in the NFL, taking note of how Incognito learned from Turley could be a smart move.
