After crushing Zion Williamson and the New Orleans Pelicans by 44 points in the In-Season Tournament semifinals, the Los Angeles Lakers have now advanced to the championship game against the Indiana Pacers, which will take place on Saturday at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
On Thursday night against the Pelicans, superstar forward LeBron James put on a show, as he packed the stat sheet in only 23 minutes on the floor in order to blowout New Orleans and punch their ticket to the championship game against the Pacers.
With James still playing at an extremely high level only a few weeks away from his 39th birthday, he’s left a lot of people in disbelief in terms of his longevity and ability to continue playing consistently well for the Lakers.
Ahead of the In-Season Tournament Championship Game in Las Vegas, Pacers head coach Rich Carlisle spoke at length about James and quoted a stat that pretty much sums everything up, via ClutchPoints.
“LeBron James is in his prime still. I mean I’m watching the guy last night and it’s phenomenal… Someone just gave me this stat: He’s the only player who’s been the youngest player in the league and oldest. Speaks to an amazing run of longevity.”

At this point in time, there’s no telling how much longer James can hold off Father Time, as he’s really shown no signs of slowing down during what should be the twilight of his NBA career.
It isn’t beyond the realm of possibility that James plays five more years in the league and sets the bar higher than anyone has ever before when it comes to longevity in the NBA.
In the meantime, James will be focusing all his energy on winning the first-ever In-Season Tournament and adding the NBA Cup to his trophy case, which is pretty full at this point in his playing career.
