San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy has done nothing but produce since he came into the league as the last pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.
However, he still has his fair share of haters and doubters, which is why former Pro Bowl quarterback and ESPN analyst Robert Griffin III recently took it upon himself to defend Purdy.
After Purdy was not listed among the 10 best quarterbacks in the NFL in an ESPN survey, Griffin fired back on social media.
“Brock Purdy not being on every top 10 QB list is absurd. … Purdy is 24-7 as a starter with 4 playoff wins,” Griffin tweeted.
Brock Purdy not being on every Top 10 QB list is ABSURD.
Purdy last year:
-1st in QBR, Passer Rating, Yards per attempt
-2nd in Completion %
-3rd in Pass TDs
-5th in Pass Yards
Purdy is 24-7 as a starter w/ 4 Playoff Wins

Griffin also mentioned how Purdy finished the 2023 season ranked first in QBR, passer rating and yards per attempt.
The general knock on Purdy is that he has a really good team around him, along with a very good offensive head coach in Kyle Shanahan, which is why he should be expected to play this way.
However, for great players to be great, they need to both have a complete team around them and still produce.
Purdy has done that with Pro Bowlers all over the field in running back Christian McCaffrey, tight end George Kittle, and wide receivers Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk.
The former Iowa State quarterback has guided San Francisco to at least the NFC Championship Game in back-to-back seasons with a Super Bowl appearance also coming last season.
Purdy has done his job at a very high level in his first two seasons and should be considered among the best at his position.
