Former NFL star Robert Griffin III is currently a free agent.

The former Washington Commanders quarterback has been let go by ESPN.

The timing of this decision was somewhat strange for the viewers, considering that the college season is just around the corner and that we’re just weeks away from the start of the NFL season.

Even so, it shouldn’t take long before RGIII finds himself a new home.

He took to Twitter to joke about it by sharing a pic of a place called Roberts Carpet & Fine Floors, adding that he had found a job there.

Just like Griffin, controversial pundit Sam Ponder was let go, most likely due to financial reasons, as they were both reportedly making more than seven figures a year.

Newly-hired Jason Kelce will most likely sub in for Griffin, both on Saturdays for their college football coverage and on their Monday Night Football show.

As for Ponder, who had been a prominent figure on NFL Countdown, it’s not as clear.

Besides the obvious financial reasons, both Ponder and Griffin are very active on social media and their views, so fans speculated this may have also had something to do with it.

Whether that’s the case or not is something that we will most likely never know for sure.
